Bedroom Pillows & Ikea Towels

Hi all, I hope your having a great weekend so far. Just wanted to do a real quick post here today.

Little glimpses of my bedroom for the holidays. I added the teal velvet pillows to my bed for a pop of color. I got these from Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic about 7 years ago.

My favorite chandelier~

I need to find some evergreens or a couple of rosemary trees to go in my lavabo. This was my Christmas present from hubby last year. He found it at Debra Hall Lifestyle. Debra always has the most gorgeous antiques!!

And a simple table setting for Thanksgiving. The napkins with the wonderful red stripes are actually towels from Ikea. Only 79 cents a piece and perfect for messy faces and hands!

Well, that's all for now. I'll talk to you all next week and have a lovely Sunday!!~

Christmas Decorating, The Beginning

Hello everyone. I got my tree decorated yesterday and a few other things. I did the house in red and silver this year and I love how it's turning out.

We got a smaller tree this year so I could put it in this vintage galvanized bucket from Europe. I placed the trunk of the tree in a coffee can and filled it with water and then set the coffee can inside the bucket and placed stones all around to hold the tree in place.

Rosemary tree from Trader Joe's. You all know it's my favorite place for fresh flowers! It smells so good!!

Vintage grain sack rolls.

I used a mix of vintage and new ornaments and added some of my petite grain sack stockings that I won from Maria last year.

Vintage French laundry tape, tinsel, and twine grouped together in a vintage French pickling jar.

One of my favorite vintage ornaments from Germany.

I have many more things to decorate around the house, but I thought I'd show you a sampling of what I've done so far.
I'm making dinner tomorrow for our family, so I've been preparing for that as well.
I am so thankful for my family and that we are all happy and healthy!
What are you thankful for this year?
I hope you all have a beautiful and joyous Thanksgiving!!~

Snowflakes & Trees

Hello all, I hope your having a lovely week.
The Christmas decor has begun around here. I had hubby get all of the Christmas boxes out of the garage this morning so I could go through them and pick out the decor for this year.
I'm still not feeling 100%, and my energy level isn't what I wished it would be, so I spent the morning crafting Christmas decoration's with my boy's.

The boys and I made sparkly snowflakes out of vintage music sheets. After we finished cutting out the different shapes, I sprayed them with adhesive and sprinkled them with vintage mica snow.

I picked up this vintage box of ornaments a few years ago. It still has the pretty pale pink and silvery green ornaments in it.

I have a collection of vintage and new bottle brush trees. This one is one of the newer ones that I got a few years ago.

This is a vintage bottle brush tree. I love the colors on it, red, silver and cream.

I had wanted to do turquoise, white and silver on the tree, but after unpacking all of these goodies, I am now leaning towards red, white, and silver.
Also, don't think I'm crazy, but the tree farm opens on Saturday and I just might go and buy our tree! Early, I know, and it will probably be dry and crispy before Christmas, but that's okay, I'm in the holiday spirit now!!~

Have a great night all, and I'll be back next week with some Christmas decor.

It's About That Time...

{I won these beautiful petite vintage grain sack stockings from the lovely Maria at Dreamy Whites last holiday season}

Hi all, I hope your having a lovely Saturday.

I've been sick for the past week and a half and just when I thought I was getting better, the dreaded flu bug hit me.
So, as I eagerly await my returned health, I have thoughts of sugar plums in my head, or more like Christmas decor. I know we haven't even had Thanksgiving, but I'm so excited to get started on my decor for this holiday season!~

I'm thinking of touches of red and white from my vintage linens and vintage balls  in colors of aqua, white, and silver on the tree.

This year I'll add fresh evergreen wreaths to my windows in my living room with creamy colored ribbon. And I'll probably do a small/medium sized fresh tree as well.
Every year after Christmas I always say that I won't have a live tree the next year because of the mess, but then I always end up changing my mind. They are truly so beautiful and festive.

Have you thought about your holiday decor yet? Are you excited for the upcoming holidays or dreading it?

***On an exciting note:
I was just offered a wonderful opportunity with a fantastic website, so when it gets a bit closer, I'll tell you all more about it at the beginning of December.

Well, I hope you all have a beautiful Sunday!!

Blog URL Change & Simple Table Setting

I woke up this morning to start a new post and found that my blog had disappeared! In it's place was a site for interior design info, cash advance and debt consolidation. To say the least I freaked out! I have been blogging for 3 years now and I thought I had lost everything!
Thanks to my sweet friend Kate, she hooked me up with an amazingly kindhearted lady and fellow blogger, Kristin, from Simply Klassic Home, who had experienced something similar a while back. She immediately e-mailed me back and told me what to do. Come to find out, someone had stolen my custom domain name, alabasterrosedesigns.com out from under me. Apparently, it must have expired, although Google never contacted me about it expiring and someone grabbed it. So, if you are trying to get to my site, please note that my blog address has reverted back to alabasterrosedesigns.blogspot.com
All I have to say is why in the world would a cash advance place use the name alabasterrosedesigns.com?
I also lost a bunch of my favorite blogs that I had listed on my sidebar, so I will have to go back and add them again.

Moving on...

Vintage & worn china~ I've had these pieces for quite a while and even though I don't use a lot of pink in my decor anymore, I still love them.
I was inspired by Tracey from French Larkspur on the CMH video to create a simple table setting. I know it's not quite suited for fall, but I just used what I had on hand.

Vintage French monogrammed napkins~ These were my Christmas gift last year.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
